Calum has received prizes from the University of Oxford and the Royal College of Psychiatrists for his work on Bioethics. He also holds a master’s degree with distinction in Biblical Studies. His work seeks to show the need for Christ in shaping the modern world of medicine and for holding fast to biblical principles even in the secular environment.

Calum has published over 30 academic papers in medicine, law, philosophy, and ethics, and has given over 40 academic presentations internationally to a wide range of professionals and parliamentarians. His expertise has led to him taking part in multiple debates against the CEO of the UK’s largest private abortion provider, BPAS, and receiving invites to speak at groups including the Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Uganda.

Calum’s academic work has largely focussed on hot topics such as abortion and mental health, maternal mortality in the developing world, animal and foetal pain, telemedicine abortion, academic freedom, and the philosophy of religion. He is currently working on three books that provide a deeper dive into the ethics and philosophy of abortion.
