The Reboot team had an amazing time partnering with churches in Brighton for a Reboot Local. The event was hosted in St. Peter’s and St. Matthias Church with an engaged group of 70-80 young people from a range of backgrounds and beliefs.
The night kicked off with Alanzo briefly sharing his story of addiction and how he came to believe in the Christian faith, and then I (Clare) gave a talk on three arguments for the existence of God: cosmological, fine-tuning and the moral argument. Alanzo then gave a talk on identity, drawing upon contemporary music artists, TikTok influencers/actors. He ended his talk with a powerful and beautiful picture about our identity, worth, and value being rooted image of God.
Straight after the talks, we entered into 40 minute time of questions and responses, and the young people did not hold back! We answered many thoughtful and challenging questions, including ‘Could the Devil repent?’ and ‘How do you explain the Trinity?’ Towards the end, Alanzo made an invitation to those who wanted to respond to the Gospel. We were so grateful and encouraged that there were many responses.
After the event, the youth were eager to continue engaging with us, asking many more questions and we had a meaningful time of prayer with many youth as well. Please continue to pray for the youth leaders at St. Peters and St. Matthias Church, who are continuing to reach many young people in Brighton!
